Nappy myths?
Too much hassle, too time-consuming, too disgusting...these and many more are excuses used against cloth nappies. In days of yore this may well have been the case, but modern nappy systems have really moved on.
These days most parents choose shaped nappies that look similar to and are as simple to use as disposable nappies. With simple popper, aplix or nippa fastenings they really are as quick to put on as disposables.
Washing them isn't the issue it used to be either. Most people simply drop the used nappy into a bucket lined with a mesh bag and when it is full, put the whole mesh into the washing machine. They come out of the mesh when in the machine so do get thoroughly cleaned. Add a scoop of antibacterial nappy cleanser along with your normal detergent and there is no danger of bacteria thriving on the nappy fabric. So, how difficult is it to bung them in the machine and press a button or turn a dial?
