The new Bamboozle Stretch (S-T-R-E-T-C-H, or STRETCHIES as we like to call) them are far superior in fit, performance, comfort and durability than anything Tots Bots have done before. The new Stretchies are made from circular knitted bamboo with a hidden micro-fibre core delivering a soft, absorbent nappy that fits beautifully even on tiny newborns without compromising on performance. Yet because of the stretchiness, it fits the upper-weight ranges really well too which is often a challenge with birth-to-potty nappies. The knitted bamboo fabric stays soft longer than traditional bamboo terry and is great for babies with sensitive skin and for those who live in hard water areas.
Stretchies come in two sizes; size 1 is perfect for low birth-weight babies and those that prefer a slimmer fitting nappy, size 2 is ideal for use as a birth-to-potty nappy for bigger babies or as a progression from a size 1 nappy. Both nappies makes use of compression poppers down the front to allow the height of the nappy to be changed. This does add bulk to the nappy, though with the size 1 nappy is really only necessarily until baby is approximately 12lbs (around 2 months old on average) and is far slimmer-fitting than the size 2 when used from newborn. When used as a birth-to-potty nappy the size 2 makes use of the compression poppers until baby is approximately 18lbs (6-9 months old). This does not affect the baby, but can make clothes tight and awkward to fit. This is the case with all birth-to-potty nappies. Aplix fastening only.
Each nappy comes with a popper-in bamboo booster for both size 1 and size 2.
Wash at 40-60°C, tumble cool or line dry, no bleach, sodium bicarb, vinegar or harsh stain removers.
Drying times - Average 12 -18 hours overnight in warm airing cupboard, similar to original Bamboozle.

"I would only rate an item 5 if it was completely perfect. I have used the 2 previous types of bamboo nappy from Tots Bots & for the most part I have been happy with these. However the nappies have now become very stiff and hard due to our hard water area & because I don't use a tumble dryer. I also found that these nappies have shrunk slightly over time so even though my son is not fat and they are the size 2 recommended for his age they don't fit very well any more and seem to have lost absorbancy. Hence the need to buy new nappies for my daughter. Also because of the bad fit, every time he poos it leeks out onto the wrap which means I had to buy more wraps than Tots Bots recommend and have to wash them more which in my opinion have reduced their life span. I always liked the idea of bamboo as it's more eco friendly so when I saw the new stretch type I decided to give these a try." - Jane, Bristol (June 2010) [We Say: Using calgon in your wash may help to prevent the build up of limescale in the nappies. Giving them a good scrunch once they are dry may also help to break up any limescale and help to make them feel slightly softer too. You may find that the absorbency of your older Bamboozles is adversely affected by a build-up of laundry detergent. This is a recognised issue with cloth nappies as they are so absorbent our washing machines have to work twice as hard to remove any excess soap at the end of a wash and all but the most efficient machines seem to leave a slight residue which overtime builds up (and can eventually cause the child to have nappy rash). We always recommend using no more than a half to two-thirds of the laundry detergent that the manufacturer recommends. There is always a temptation to actually use more than they recommend to make sure that the nappies are cleaned properly but this just causes build up. Your nappies will rapidly absorb all of the detergent since they are so absorbent so you do need to use less. To see if there is a build up of detergent in your nappies try washing them without any detergent and see if there are any suds in your washing machine during the washing cycle. You may actually need to repeat this process two or three times if the build up is quite bad. Hopefully that will restore the absorbency of your nappies to their original condition. I am sorry that poo always leaks onto the wrap. This unfortunately does happen with some nappies, with some children. There is no way of predicting which nappies are going to be a perfect fit on each child as they are growing and developing and very occasionally with some children it is either a case of trying several different nappies, or as you found buying several spare wraps. I hope you find that the new STRETCH version of the Bamboozle is less likely to cause leaks.]
"Prior to this purchase I had used them for a few weeks, loved them so wanted to get more! I cannot comment about the longevity of these nappies as I have only recently started to use them however they have thus far proved to be an excellent choice after having done some extended research of bamboo nappies on the market. The Tots Bots Bamboo STRETCH nappies are made of wonderful soft stretchy bamboo that gives a very trim fit on my baby whilst still being super absorbent. Despite the long drying (air drying) time I find the Tots Bots STRETCH nappies to provide excellent containment for explosive breast fed poo and I have yet to experience any leaks! I would highly recommend this nappy to anyone wanting to buy a bamboo real nappy system." - Ronnie, London (May 2010)
"First time user of 'real nappies' and I have not been dissapointed with the bamboozle stretchy. I purchased size 2 for my 14 week old 12lb baby and they fit nicely, although a little bulky for some of his pants. The waterproof covers that came with the pack wre far too big and I had to purchase x 4 size 1 which again have fittted well. Quality of product excellent and I have found they have dried well on the line in good weather but a bit slower indoors. Excellent speedy service from Friendly Baby. x" - Melissa, Greater Manchester (April 2010)
